Safet Kastrat

Safet Kastrat enters his first season as the Director of Recruiting for La Salle men's basketball and his second season overall with the program in 2023-24.

A native of Trenton, N.J., Kastrat was hired by Fran Dunphy in Nov. 2022 as the video coordinator for the Explorers, helping the coaching staff scout opposing teams throughout the season and evaluate prospective student-athletes for recruiting. In addition to serving as the video coordinator at La Salle, Kastrat served as an assistant coach for the U18 Kosovo National Team.
Prior to joining the coaching staff at La Salle, Kastrat served as the Director of Player Development at Radford under Darris Nichols.  At Radford, Kastrat oversaw video and technology, aided in player development through video study, assisted with maintaining a recruiting database, and was the director of recruiting for all elite camps.  Kastrat recruited over 420 prospective student-athletes from 40 different states and four different countries.
Before working at Radford, Kastrat served as the special assistant to the head coach at Rider under Kevin Baggett.  At Rider, Kastrat assisted in on court workouts, assisted coaches with opposing team scouting reports, evaluated prospective student-athletes via film, and was the director of recruiting for team camp.  Kastrat recruited over 75 high school teams and had them seen by over 25 national talent evaluators from outlets such as ESPN, Rivals, 247 Sports, and more.
Prior to Rider, Kastrat served as an assistant varsity boys' basketball coach at The Hun School of Princeton under Jonathan Stone.  Kastrat coached multiple student-athletes that went on to play at all NCAA levels.
