Borrowed from German Methode, from Latin methodus from Ancient Greek μέθοδος (méthodos, “pursuit of knowledge, investigation, mode of prosecuting such inquiry, system”), from μετά (metá, “after”) + ὁδός (hodós, “way, motion, journey”).[1]
