Le Maneige Royal ou on peut remarquer le defaut et la perfection du Chevalier, en tous les exercices de cet art, digne des Princes, fait & pratique en l'instruction du Roy par Antoine PLUVINEL son escuyer principal []. The whole engraved & represented in large figures of engraving by Crispian de PAS, Flemish, in the honor of the King, & in the memory of Mr. de PLUVINEL. A la ville de Brunsvic, Au despens de Gotfried Müller, 1626. Small folio, ivory vellum with small overlays (19th c. pastiche binding). "Printed for the second time & put into Alleman. " Bilingual edition in French and German, produced according to the author's manuscript. (The first one was given in Paris, by Michel Nivelle, in 1625). The illustrations were made by Matthieu MÉRIAN from the plates of the Maneige Royal of 1623, but with a different architectural decoration. They include a bilingual title-frontispiece dated 1626, addressed to "Gottfridt Muller" in "Braunschweig", a portrait of Louis XIII by Gotfried Müller, also dated 1626, a portrait of Pluvinel of 1626, eleven pages of dedication, "advertissement" and miscellaneous and 61 double plates engraved by Crispian de PAS (including six of the jaws), accompanied by 78 pages (paginated 1-19 and 21-40, including two "errata"). Small wormholes in the first pages; small restored accidents on about ten plates (small marginal lack on one of them); large wetness on the last leaves.
