The illustrations were made by Matthieu MÉRIAN from the plates of the Maneige Royal of 1623, but with a different architectural decoration. They include a bilingual title-frontispiece dated 1626, addressed to "Gottfridt Muller" in "Braunschweig", a portrait of Louis XIII by Gotfried Müller, also dated 1626, a portrait of Pluvinel of 1626, eleven pages of dedication, "advertissement" and miscellaneous and 61 double plates engraved by Crispian de PAS (including six of the jaws), accompanied by 78 pages (paginated 1-19 and 21-40, including two "errata").
