Boruto is the son of the 7th Hokage Naruto uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga and is widely considered to be a genius.

Accolades

• During the first three weeks of his schooling at the Ninja Academy, Boruto clocked in the second best time in his class for a test run that included flips, running, and going through a small obstacle course. The test was designed to measure each of the students's basic strengths and weaknesses, and the person who beat his time was Iwabe, a student who's failed the graduation exams twice and is older than Boruto. - (Boruto Episode 2)
• Naruto says things come too easily for Boruto and that sometimes he tends to take shortcuts because he's so good at different things. - (Boruto Episode 9)
• Sasuke Uchiha tells Boruto that he can surpass Naruto one day. - (Boruto Ch. 06)

Speed/Agility

• Boruto showcases his agility by parkouring through the Leaf Village, doing backflips off stands, leaping across roofs, swinging off pipes and using that momentum to launch him in a different direction, sliding under railings, etc. - (Boruto Episode 1)
• Boruto goes into a series of three back handsprings and then vaults himself up and over a wall that had to be about 20 feet high. - (Boruto Episode 2)
• Boruto throws shuriken at Iwabe and disappears from his sight to appear behind him and surprise Iwabe with his speed. - (Boruto Episode 2)

Boruto is able to dodge Shinki's Black Iron Fist Eject, an attack that fired off one of his Black Iron Fists at him and Sarada at great speeds:

• Boruto is able to move FTE to dodge Shojoji's attack, after the latter had crossed a large distance between the two of them in an instant. Boruto dodged his attack by jumping up dozens of feet in the air. - (Boruto Ch. 14)
• Boruto dodges a sudden attack from a puppet that appeared to be defeated. - (Boruto Ch. 19)
• Boruto is able to jump out of the way of a sort of scientific ninja tool minigun. - (Boruto Ch. 20)
• Boruto jumps into the air to dodge one of Kawaki's chakra blasts. - (Boruto Ch. 30)
• Boruto and his team evade Boro's Planet Branding Blast that sent out a large blast of acid. - (Boruto Ch. 40)

Strength

• Boruto is thrown overhead by one of his clones and hits Kagemasa with a palm strike that sends him flying down and bounce into a wall. The hit was powerful enough to create a small shockwave. - (Boruto Episode 9)
• Boruto and Iwabe hit a man hard enough to fly back into a wall and crack it. - (Boruto Episode 11)
• Boruto and one of his clones kick away a large panda. - (Boruto Ch. 01)
• Boruto is able to stop Yurui's strike by grabbing his arm. - (Boruto Ch. 04)
• Boruto kicks a member of the Mujina Gang a fair ways away. - (Boruto Ch. 11)
• Boruto kicks the leader of the Mujina Gang and a large fellow Shojoji away from Tento. - (Boruto Ch. 13)

Durability/Endurance

• Boruto is thrown hard against a stone pillar by Iwabe. - (Boruto Episode 2)
• Boruto is sent flying back into a tree by Hanabi Hyuga but shrugs it off. - (Boruto Episode 9)
• One of Boruto's Shadow Clones takes a kick from Kagemasa, who can kick through thick stone pillars. This would obviously scale to Boruto's own durability as well. - (Boruto Episode 9)
• One of Boruto's clones hits him square in the face in order to get a Mitsuki clone that was holding him from behind to let go. - (Boruto Episode 13)
• Boruto is thrown away by Nue and goes skidding in the dirt before crashing into a large tree trunk. - (Boruto Episode 14)

• Boruto has a bubble from Yurui of the Hidden Cloud Village explode in his face and send him flying back. - (Boruto Ch. 04)
• Boruto has his entire right forearm burned up from clashing the Big Ball Rasengan Naruto gave him into Momoshiki Ohtsutsuki's jutsu but endures it long enough to allow the Rasengan to overpower Momoshiki. - (Boruto Ch. 09)

In the anime:

• While helping to test scientific ninja tools, Boruto helps use a flying device but since it still needs some work on its motion control, it sends Boruto flying into a wall. - (Boruto Ch. 18)
• Boruto is kicked into a wall by Ao, who is enhanced by scientific ninja tools after nearly getting killed in the Fourth Great Ninja War. Boruto is only "down" for three scans but not in too much pain when we see him again. - (Boruto Ch. 20)
• Boruto has his hand fried by one of Kawaki's chakra blasts after he tries to absorb it with his Karma. - (Boruto Ch. 30)
• Boruto takes a hit from Delta, one of Kara's inner and stronger members. - (Boruto Ch. 32)
• Boruto trips face first into a tree after his body freezes up and he trips on a branch. - (Boruto Ch. 36)
• Boruto is backhanded by Boro and sent flying away. - (Boruto Ch. 42)
• Boruto is punched in the face by Boro and is still able to stand afterwards. - (Boruto Ch. 42)
• Boruto is then kicked in the stomach and punched again by Boro while being so tired and low on chakra that he can't make another Rasengan. - (Boruto Ch. 42)
• Boruto is sent flying when he is smacked away by the monster Boro and although he is fine after the first hit, Boro slams him into the ground again and appears to knock him out. - (Boruto Ch. 43)

Skill/Taijutsu

• Boruto uses Sasuke Uchiha's old move against Iwabe, first kicking him up high, following with a punch up high, and then ending by twisting his body to bring his other leg up to kick up top again. - (Boruto Episode 2)
• Boruto is able to trick Iwabe with his Shadow Clones and then hit him with a three-piece combo with his real body and two clones. Boruto's skills and attack right here were enough to piss off Iwabe into using his staff, which he said he wouldn't use before the fight. So despite the Academy teachers all praising his taijutsu, Boruto was still able to hold his own and get the better of Iwabe. - (Boruto Episode 2)
• Boruto makes good use of his Shadow Clones in a spar with his aunt Hanabi, creating a clone in close quarters and swinging it at Hanabi, creating a clone after being thrown in the air to push off of him to shoot at Hanabi, and then throwing a kunai at Hanabi's head knowing she would dodge it so that the clone behind her would deflect the knife back at her, forcing her to dodge again. - (Boruto Episode 9)

• Boruto is able to leap around and dodge Shikadai Nara's Shadow Paralysis Jutsu and attempts to use the Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist style when he gets in close. - (Boruto Ch. 04)
• Boruto uses another Shadow Clone to dodge Shikadai's Shadow Paralysis Jutsu by kicking off each other's feet in the air:
• Boruto nonchalantly hits the center bullseye on a target with a shuriken. - (Boruto Ch. 12)
• In the fight against Ao, Boruto planned to have the now cyborg ninja wield the Chakra Blade and force him to hold onto it, knowing how fast it drains a user's chakra when active. The rest of his team, Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, and Konohamaru fire off jutsu after jutsu at Ao, forcing him to use the scientific ninja tool he acquired on his arm to absorb it. Boruto then followed it up by sending a clone to attack him from above with the Chakra Blade, hoping and successfully forcing Ao to defend him and making him believe the Chakra Blade was important to Boruto when he was relieved of it. Ao then grabbed the Chakra Blade to stab Boruto's clone but Mitsuki came in and wrapped his arm around Ao's hand, making him hold onto and keep holding on to the blade and thus draining him of his energy enough to slow him down. - (Boruto Ch. 21)
• Boruto then uses his own chakra absorption gauntlet to cancel out Ao's, which lets his Rasengan make contact with Ao and deal significant damage to his chakra absorption gauntlet and render it useless. - (Boruto Ch. 21)
• Boruto arms one of his clones with his chakra absorbing gauntlet in order to trick Ao into believing it was the real one, while Boruto hid underneath him and cut him nearly on two with the Chakra Blade after tricking Ao. - (Boruto Ch. 22)

A "*" indicates that Boruto only used this piece of equipment for a short time and is not what he carries around as standard.

Scientific Ninja Tool*

• The Scientific Ninja Tool was created by Konoha's Scientific Ninja Tool Corps. in order to make using higher-end jutsu easier and to make the lives of Shinobi far less taxing and gruesome by ensuring that a ninja doesn't need to push their body to the limit in order to train. Any jutsu can be stored in this tool by simply using it on a special scroll that absorbs and contains the jutsu then shrinks to almost the size of a large pill that can then be used with the tool, basically allowing whoever wields the Scientific Ninja Tool the ability to use whatever jutsu was on the scroll. Konohamaru used it to tie up a large panda with Shikamaru's Shadow Paralysis Jutsu and then showed Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki how the tool works by putting his Rasengan in a scroll and firing it off. - (Boruto Ch. 01)
• Boruto uses Water Bullet Jutsu to flood the roof of a building and prevent a group of Mist ninja from taking his team's flag in the second part of the Chunin Exams. - (Boruto Ch. 03)

In the anime:

• Boruto then follows that up with a Lightning Bullet Ibuki Jutsu to shock and knockout all of the enemy Genin. - (Boruto Ch. 03)

In the anime:

• Boruto is able to use his shuriken training he had been doing with Sasuke Uchiha in tandem with his Scientific Ninja Tool to throw a shuriken straight but not directed at Yurui and then have a Wind Style Jutsu go off and send it flying to the side. This allowed the shuriken to cut Yurui's bubble he was blowing and blow it up in his face, knocking him out. - (Boruto Ch. 04)

In the anime:

• There are three different versions to this event where Boruto uses his Scientific Ninja Tool to escape Shikadai's Shadow Paralysis Jutsu. One is where Boruto creates dozens of Shadow Clones to surround Shikadai and one is where he creates only one behind the original and forces Shikadai to release the jutsu to dodge a thrown kunai. - (Boruto Ch. 04)

In the anime:

Chakra Blade*

• The Chakra Blade is a scientific ninja tool that uses one's own chakra to create the weapon's blade, hence the name. You hold the handle, pull the trigger with your index finger while pressing a button with your thumb, and the tool takes your own chakra to form a blade. - (Boruto Ch. 18)
• The one major drawback though is the Chakra Blade at this time currently has too high of a chakra expenditure to be a practical weapon in combat. When Boruto had this active for no more than a few minutes while he and his team were going over their plan to combat Ao, he felt wobbly and fell over, saying he could feel the blade sucking the strength right out of him. - (Boruto Ch. 18/21)

Paper Bomb

• Even during his Academy days, Boruto was using Paper Bombs. - (Boruto Episode 6)

Smoke Bomb

• Boruto has access to smoke bombs. - (Boruto Ch. 14)

Flashbang

• Boruto uses a sort of flashbang weapon to try and stun Hanabi in their spar. - (Boruto Episode 9)

Foam Spray

• On his mission to check on Konohamaru Sarutobi by the crashed airship that held Kawaki, Boruto is given a few Foam Sprays by the former Class Rep from the Academy. These Foam Sprays spray a healing foam that boosts one's own innate healing powers, heals wounds, and become film-like and seal open cuts. - (Boruto Ch. 18)

Ninjutsu

• Boruto is able to use Wind Style, Lightning Style, and Water Style jutsu by the time he takes the Chunin Exams. - (Boruto Ch. 01)

• Boruto notes that he was able to pick up the tree climbing exercise quickly and that it was super easy to do, showcasing that he has tremendous chakra control. - (Boruto Ch. 35)
  • Kakashi explains the technique for climbing trees helps to gain better chakra control and build stamina in order to use ninjutsu effectively in a fight and to make sure one isn't wasting too much energy when performing a jutsu/can keep chakra control throughout a battle. - (Naruto Ch. 17/18)

Shadow Clone Jutsu

• Boruto learned how to create three Shadow Clones without any training. - (Boruto Ch. 01)
  • Although the reason Boruto was able to catch on so quick to this jutsu was most likely because of it being Naruto's own signature jutsu, Shadow Clone jutsu is still a high level technique from a forbidden scroll that was locked away and forbidden to use by the First Hokage. - (Naruto Ch. 01)
  • The Shadow Clone Technique is actually a Jounin level jutsu. - (Naruto Ch. 100)
• Boruto uses three Shadow Clones to help throw his main body up at least two stories of the Academy building. - (Boruto Episode 4)
• By the time of the Chunin Exams, Boruto is able to create four clones of himself. - (Boruto Ch. 03)
• Boruto uses his Shadow Clones to take out four members of the Mujina Clan. - (Boruto Ch. 14)

Rasengan

The Rasengan is a jutsu that concentrates chakra into the user's palm and creates a swirling vortex of it, capable of blowing people back dozens of feet even in its weakest version. It was molded after the Bijuu Bomb and is a class A jutsu.

• Boruto goes through nearly the same methods that Naruto did back in the day in learning how to create and use the Rasengan, and after only a few days, is able to create a small one by focusing with both of his hands, not too different from how Naruto first made his. - (Boruto Ch. 02)
• While Boruto's Rasengan is incredibly small and nowhere near the size of a completed and mastered Rasengan, it has a unique ability to be thrown, vanish halfway along its journey, and then reappear to detonate later, becoming a "Vanishing Rasengan". - (Boruto Ch. 02)
• Here's Sasuke Uchiha describing the Vanishing Rasengan. Boruto unconsciously changed it's chakra nature to make it vanish and is able to throw it to make it a ranged attack. - (Boruto Ch. 09)
• Boruto uses his Vanishing Rasengan against Momoshiki Ohtsutsuki, which is brushed off because it disappears before it connects but then knocks Momoshiki over on his side (in the anime). - (Boruto Ch. 08/09)

• After the fight against Momoshiki and Kinshiki Ohtsutsuki, Boruto is able to create a normal sized Rasengan. - (Boruto Ch. 14)
• Boruto's Rasengan sends Shojoji flying across a room strong enough to make a hole in a wall, with this being the damage it did to the wall. - (Boruto Ch. 14)
  • Here it is in the anime. - (Boruto Episode 151)
• Boruto is still able to throw his normal sized Rasengan. - (Boruto Ch. 16)
  • At this point in time, Naruto says Boruto has a nice Rasengan and that he's been working on it to improve it. - (Boruto Ch. 16)
• Boruto uses his Rasengan to send Ao flying away into the side of a building. - (Boruto Ch. 22)
• Boruto's Rasengan is able to destroy Boro's arm up until his forearm. Boro immediately regenerates it though. - (Boruto Ch. 42)

Transformation Jutsu

• Boruto transforms himself into Shikadai to trick Metal Lee. - (Boruto Episode 3)
• Boruto knows the Transformation Jutsu and transforms himself into a woman. - (Boruto Ch. 12)

Lightning Triplet

• Boruto can combine his Lightning Triplet Jutsu with the shuriken jutsu Sasuke Uchiha was teaching him to create even deadlier shuriken attacks. This amps the speed and cutting power of the shuriken with his lightning, however we don't see the extent or how powerful and dangerous they are since they're repelled and then dodged by Boruto. - (Boruto Ch. 14)

Thunder Bolt

• Boruto can use the Raiton Style Jutsu Thunder Bolt, where he basically throws a bolt of lightning with his hands at a target. He uses this in tandem with his Wave Surge Jutsu to charge the water he summoned to make it even deadlier in a spar with Naruto. - (Boruto Ch. 16)
• Under the effects of Karma, Boruto's Thunder Bolt jutsu manages to destroy one of Naruto's Shadow Clones. - (Boruto Ch. 29)

Water Style, Wave Surge

• Boruto is able to use the Wave Surge Jutsu, creating a large amount of water without any outside source to supplement him. The amount of water Boruto summons can be seen here when Naruto makes a wide earth wall to dam it off, and this was the size of the arena they were fighting in. - (Boruto Ch. 16)

Summoning Jutsu

The Summoning Jutsu is a jutsu where the caster makes a pact with blood with an animal that allows them to summon them wherever they want.

• Boruto is able to summon Nue, a large chimera, without seemingly signing a contract with it. The entire body of Nue doesn't appear, however, just its tail, which still damages the roof of the Academy and knocks Chocho off the edge. - (Boruto Episode 4)
  • Nue can absorb chakra through its tail, grows in size when it absorbs chakra, and then can be detonated when it has enough chakra to become a large bomb. Its original purpose was to be sent into enemy territory, go on a rampage, and then be detonated for maximum damage. - (Boruto Episode 13)

Karma

• After Momoshiki Ohtsutsuki's defeat, he was able to implant a Karma into Boruto's right palm. - (Boruto Ch. 10)
  
  • Karma is when an Ohtsutsuki basically converts themselves into a backup file and implant it into a host's body. This eventually allows the Ohtsutsuki to slowly overwrite and take over the host's body. - (Boruto Ch. 46)
• Karma's limitation is that it cannot absorb physical matter but only energy or chakra matter. By that, it means that Karma can absorb a jutsu that makes water but not a jutsu that pulls water from an already existing source. - (Boruto Ch. 41)
• Boruto uses his Karma to absorb the Trance of True Flames, flames of purgatory that can't be put out by normal means, in order to save his sensei Konohamaru. - (Boruto Ch. 23)
• Boruto protects his team from the after effects of Kawaki's large chakra blast. - (Boruto Ch. 25)
• Karma increases ones physical abilities and even Naruto comments that he feels Boruto brimming with more power than before after Kawaki helped him activate it. - (Boruto Ch. 29)
  • Naruto notes that Boruto's speed, power, and strength of his jutsu are all increased when he used his Karma in their spar. - (Boruto Ch. 29)
• Boruto can use his Karma in tandem with Kawaki's to open a space-time portal, which allows them to teleport to where Naruto was being held. - (Boruto Ch. 39)
• Boruto uses his Karma to absorb acid fired at Kawaki. - (Boruto Ch. 40)
• Boruto and Kawaki use their Karma to teleport Naruto out of the container that he was sealed in. - (Boruto Ch. 43)

Transformation

Through his Karma, Boruto appears to be able to partially transform into Momoshiki Ohtsutsuki (he sprouts a horn on the right side of his head) in the same way Nine Tails used to emerge in Naruto back in the day, that being in desperate life-or-death situations.

• Momoshiki appears to partially transform in Boruto and save him from being pummeled to death by the monster Boro. - (Boruto Ch. 43)
• In this form, Boruto, or Borushiki, can fly and is strong enough to destroy monster Boro's arm with a kick as well as kick his whole body away. - (Boruto Ch. 43)
• In this form, Boruto, or Borushiki, can absorb chakra from someone through the Karma mark. He absorbs some of Naruto's chakra, kicks monster Boro around a bit, and then kills him with an extremely large Rasengan. - (Boruto Ch. 43)

Jougan

Jougan is a unique ocular ability that manifests in Boruto's right eye. It looks almost like a Byakugan without any pupil in the eye, but doesn't flex the veins around the eyes like the Byakugan does. Boruto doesn't know how to consciously activate this ability so far.

• Toneri Ohtsutsuki talks to Boruto through his dream and tells him that his Jougan is the only hope against the destruction that he says will eventually come to pass. - (Boruto Episode 8)
  • He then further tells Boruto that his Jougan will help him shoulder the fate of the world. - (Boruto Episode 8)
• Boruto's Jougan instinctively activates and notices a shadow possessing Denki. - (Boruto Episode 1)
• This isn't just a one-time thing either, Boruto's Jougan activates whenever he comes into contact with and sees someone who is being possessed by the shadow, this time seeing it had overtook his Academy teacher Shino Aburame. - (Boruto Episode 6)
• Boruto's Jougan opens up a portal on Nue and teleports him away to another dimension. His eye then opens a portal above himself, Sumire, and Mitsuki, which allows them to go into the same dimension. - (Boruto Episode 13)
