Carl Gustav Rolling block extractor

Does anyone know of any extractors available for the Carl Gustav rolling block in 12.7x44R? I have looked everywhere I can think of but no one lists the straight extractors.

Those rotary extractors are tought to find. Lonestar used to keep a few on hand but since he's gone I'm not sure where to get some.
Might want to pm Crossfire Oops here or on the 24 hr campfire, he may either have some of those on hand or know where to find them.

The Swedish RB in 12.7x44R is just a variation of the USG. 50/70(12.7x45R). Alot of those parts were sort of interchangeable within Reason. a lot of RB parts can be gotten @ Gun shows . Originally Remington made only 1 Military Model then sold it to other countries. If you match up your receiver then it may fit

I bought one from numrich a couple years ago. it was for 45/70 so I had to trim it down a bit to fit the cartridge rim. one of the few times I ever ordered somethin' from them & they actually had it in stock.

I have yet to see an unaltered Swede chamber a 50-70.
First of the rim is way to big on the 50-70, second the Swede is conical, thierd the Swede is shorter and thinner.

I got one from numrich for 45-70 also, had to do some triming and fileing but it works. in hindsight I could have probly made one from scratch just as easy. between 5 rifles me and a couple friends have, 2 of them will chamber 50-70 if it is trimmed down in length. it doesn't look like they have been modified but who knows. as for the rim, the 348 is too small but it works ok on the smaller chambers that dont allow the cases to move over and fall off the extractor. oh yeah, they are more accurate than what you would expect.

I,m Not an expert in this cartridge . only what I,v read or items in my Own collection. But this thread was to help the gentleman with parts. Those rotary extractors are tought to find.

Except the Swedish m/1867 does not use a rotary extractor. It uses the sliding extractor.

And there is more than one breed of rotary extractor among rolling blocks. The Swedish m/1889 used one type of rotary extractor that is not compatible with other rolling block rotary extractors.

The U.S. .50-70 Gov't is a centerfire cartridge. The Swedish military m/1867 12,17x42R is a rimfire. They are not dimensionally interchangeable. I have original samples of each in my cartridge collection.

4 and 5 are the cartridges in question with #4 being an original 12,17x42R Swedish rimfire, #5 being an original .50-70 Gov't.



Same cartridges. The one RWS marked 12,7x44R is/was an empty case from Germany. The civilian centerfire version of the Swedish military cartridge is known as the 12,7x44R.

Mine is astraight extractor and I have cast the chamber on mine, shorter than 50/70 andthe rim is thicker and not as wide as a50/70. Brass is on order now. The nib on the extractor is broken off of mine so when you open the block, it does not pull the extractor out.
