Original-Owner 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

This 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX was purchased new by the seller’s wife from Jeff D’Ambrosio Mitsubishi in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Now showing 91k miles, the car is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip rear differential. The exterior is finished in red over black leather, and the car was delivered new with a rear wing, a hood bulge, air conditioning, a sunroof, a power-adjustable driver seat, and disc brakes. Modifications include 17″ wheels, coilover suspension, a cat-back stainless-steel exhaust, an aftermarket shift knob, and a Kenwood stereo. Service over the past four years has included replacing the timing belt and the clutch assembly. This 2G Eclipse is now offered with its window sticker, service records, a Chilton manual, a CD with service manuals, sheepskin seat covers, the removed shift knob, a clean AutoCheck report, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the name of the seller’s wife.

The car is finished in Saronno Red with pinstripes that run along both sides. Features include optional mudguards, a sunroof, a rear wing, fog lights, and a bulge in the hood. The headlights have been retrofitted with HID low-beam and LED high-beam bulbs. The seller states that a ceramic coating was recently applied to the paintwork.

Silver-finished 17″ TRMotorsports wheels show curb rash and are mounted with 225/50 BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp 2 A/S tires. Red-painted brake calipers are paired with slotted rotors at each corner, and adjustable coilover suspension has been installed.

The cabin features black leather upholstery, and the front seats have been protected by included sheepskin covers, which are pictured in the gallery below. Rubber mats line the front footwells. An aftermarket shift knob has been installed along with a Kenwood stereo, and the seller notes that the automatic antenna is inoperable. Sound insulation has been added to the floor behind the front seats, and amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, a power-adjustable driver seat, power windows and locks, and a tilting steering column.

A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of factory instrumentation that includes a 9k-rpm tachometer, a 170-mph speedometer, and gauges to monitor boost pressure, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows just under 91,500 miles.

The turbocharged 2.0-liter 4G63 inline-four produced a factory-rated 210 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller notes that the timing belt and the balance-shaft belt were replaced when the car had 87,650 miles in 2018, and the clutch assembly was replaced at 80,380 miles in 2015, as noted on invoices shown in the photo gallery below.

Power is delivered to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip rear differential came standard. A Thermal Research & Development stainless-steel cat-back exhaust system has been installed. Additional photos of the underbody are provided in the gallery.

The window sticker shows delivery to Tony Domiano Mitsubishi in Eynon, Pennsylvania, who traded the car to the original selling dealer mentioned above. Selected factory features are noted along with a total retail price of $27,148.

The July 2020 AutoCheck report shows no accidents or other issues. Registration activity is listed with a single owner in Pennsylvania.
