Empoasca vitis (Göthe, 1875)
Empoasca vitis is a very common froghopper found throughout the year and measures around 3-4mm in length. During the Summer, it is found on a range of shrubs and plants, but over the Winter, it can be found on evergreen shrubs and is common in gardens. Gardening on mild days in from late January onwards, will often disturb this species into making short flights. This one was found at Market Warsop in early February 2011.
