ELF Lip Product Reviews & Swatches

Recently, I bought a bunch of stuff from ELF and I had so much fun opening every single package! I'm not too sure how this company makes money considering the fact most of their products only costs $1 and they're all packaged too.  If you have purchased any of their $1 brushes you will know that they all come with plastic coverings, so you wonder how much profit they actually make from $1.

Anyways, on to my review.  These are all the elf lip products I currently own.

ELF Essentials Lipstick / Studio Lipstains
First off, I would like to say that the lipstick swatches on their website are extremely off. I don't even know how it got passed.  The colors on my photo are much more accurate.

Lipstain in Birthday Suit: A bright pink
Lipstain in Heartbreaker: A brown with a hint of coral
Lipstain in Mysterious: Just nudey brown with tiny tiny tiny shimmer that barely makes it on application.

Overall: The application is somewhat sheer so you do need to apply another layer to get the full on color. They do not last as long as drugstore lipstains do so reapplying might be necessary.  There is no fragrance added but the scent is not something pleasant, luckily it is not strong.  Lastly, they contain Vitamins A & E for lip moisture!

Lipstick in Classy: Muave-dull pink. Matte
Lipstick in Fantasy: A brown similar to lipstain Mysterious, but slightly more redder and darker. The color applied is different from how the color appears as a stick. Semi matte, semi satin finish.
Lipstick in Posh: A red more towards the violet spectrum.

Overall: These are excellent for $1. They are a little dry and not the smoothest but they apply quite evenly, does not smudge and does not enhance dry lips. These smell like the berry skittles but have no taste.

ELF Mineral Lipstick

Lipstick in Natural Nymph: A warm beige. But it looks like a cool pink on my yellow undertone. Matte
Lipstick in Runway Pink: A nudey pink. Matte
Lipstick in Nicely Nude: Similar the Runway pink but a bit more redder and has tiny shimmers.

Overall: Application is smooth, good pigmentation, no scent.  Only thing is that it does make the dry flakes on my lips more visible.

ELF Luscious Lipstick

Lipstick in Baby Lips: Muavey pink, slight shimmer, and blueish/purplish shine.
Lipstick in Bark: Dark plum muave with no shimmer.
Lipstick in Caramel Candy: Light beige brown with shimmer

Overall: Application is smooth, somewhat sheer (shouldn't really be called a lipstick), and quite moisturizing, not that sticky. They do have a minty scent and feels fresh/minty on your lips.  So if you don't like mint, don't buy this.  Also, I've tested the Baby Lips before I took the first photos and as you can see, that is how much I had to turn the pen in order to get the product started. Compared to the other 2, you can tell how much product there actually is. But for $1 no complains here.

ELF Hypershine Gloss
Once again, the swatches on their website are not reliable.

Gloss in Bubblegum: Milky baby pink
Gloss in Flirt: Barbie Pink
Gloss in Blossom: Similar to flirt but redder and less milky, has a little of shimmer
Gloss in Honey: shimmery brown. Darker and redder than the luscious lipstick in Caramel Candy

Overall: Applies very smoothly.  The scent is suppose to be cotton candy but I can't really put my finger on what it actually smells like...If you are asian, then the best way I can explain is that it smells like those dried up, salted plums. The scent isn't too strong though so it's okay. I don't know if it's my batch or something, but this has more pigment than my luscious lipsticks... I love them. Oh, and they're not super sticky.

ELF Misc Glosses

Plumping Lip Glaze in Oasis: Duo ended, one side is clear with sparkles which smells like mint, and other end is a raspberry pink with lots of sparkles which smells like....something plasticy sweet.
Mineral Lipgloss in Au Natural: Very pretty nude shimmery gloss.  I lovee it because I have big lips and I CANNOT wear anything too wet looking, but this has the right amount of shine.  They're not that sticky either.
Mineral Lipgloss in Bare: Just a sheer brown color. Deepens my lips just a little bit.
Super Glossy Lip Shine in Candlelight: Pretty nude coral color.  Somewhat thicker and a little stickier than the other glosses but has good pigmentation and pretty sparkles.
