This invention relates to improvements in fountain pens, and particularly to a pen which `permits selectively the writing with vari-colored inks, as for instance red, blue and black, al-

i though naturally inks of other colors may be used.

It is the principal object of my invention to provide a multi-color fountain pen of comparatively simple and therefore inexpensive construction, yet durable and efficient in operation.

Another object of my invention is the provision of a fountain pen of this character equipped with novel and improved means for guiding and holding a plurality of ink sacks.

A further object of my invention is the provision of a fountain pen equipped with novel means for holding the lower ends of the ink` sacks.

These and other objects and advantages of my invention will become more fully known as the description thereof proceeds, and will then be specifically defined in the appended claim.

In the accompanying drawing forming a material part of this disclosure:

Fig. 1 shows a multi-color fountain pen in elevation, and constructed according to my invention.

Fig. 2 is an end view thereof.

Fig. 3 is a longitudinal section' through the fountain pen.

Fig. 4 is a cross-section on line 4 4 of Figure 3.

Fig. 5 is a cross-section on line 5--5 of Figure 3.

Figures 6 and 7 are fragmentary sectional detail views illustrating the fastening of the ink sacks.

As shown, the fountain pen has the usual outer barrel 10 and cap 11. Within the barrel a spindle l2 is secured at its lower end to a block 13, while its upper end is held in place by a partition 14 provided with openings 15 allowing the passage of the ink sacks 16, 16', 16", preferably three in number which are either guided in suitable grooves 12 of the spindle 12 or along the outer face thereof.

(Cl. 1Z0-42) The filling is done in the usual manner by means of droppers.

The lower end of block 13 is equipped with suitable holders 18 for the pens 19, and their feeders 20.

The lower ends of the ink sacks are either entered and held in suitable sockets 21 in block 13, (Fig. 6) or they are threaded into threaded sockets 22, (Fig. 7).

The operation of my device will be entirely clear from the above description and simultaneous inspection of the drawing, and it will be clear that the sacks may be filled with inks of various colors for instance red, black or blue or the like and that the marks 23 on the barrel over the respective pens will indicate the color with which a certain pen will write.

It will be understood that I have described and shown the preferred form of my device only and that I may make such changes therein as permitted by the scope of the appended claim Without departure from my invention.

Having thus described my invention what I clain' as new and desireto secure by Letters Patent is:

A multi-color fountain pen including its barrel and cap, comprisinga spindle vertically and centrally disposed within said barrel and having longitudinally extending grooves on three of its sides, an upper partition in said barrel for holding the spindle in position, and provided with three openings, a block in the lower end of said barrel said block having three sockets formed therein, three ink sacks extending with their upper ends through the openings in said upper partition, guided in the grooves of said spindle, and held at their lower ends in their sockets, three pens held in holders in said block holding the pens and their feeders, and marks on the barrel to indicate the color of the ink fed to said pens from said ink sacks.
