Much of what ails America’s elite universities would be cured by restoring meritocracy both to student admissions and to hiring of faculty. The latter is actually harder to accomplish because ideology has so completely supplanted merit in the academy, outside the hard sciences.

Iran is close to having the refined fissile material and technical ability to build a fission device. I think it’s likely they’ll do so now and test soon. Strategically, it would change Israel’s calculus for conventional attacks, even without miniaturization for missile delivery.

By the way, was 5G the biggest marketing scam in history or what? Lightning fast speeds, etc. Does anyone notice the difference?
